ERIK THE RED

Erik Thorvaldson (Erik the Red) was a famous viking and Norwegian explorer of the tenth century.
He founded the first settlement in Greenland.

He was born in Jaeren,in 940.The other vikings called him Erik the Red because the colour of his beard.

Erik had four descendents:Leif Erikson,Thorsteinn,Thorvald and Freydiss(a very beautiful girl,with the red hair,like her father)

He named the lands that he discovered Greenland to attract merchants and money.The name was a trap,because there wasn't camp for te cultivation and trees.It was a fake publicity.

Erik died in the turn of the millennium because he fell of a horse.
